In Division 4, the Run Through Krew had the most interesting event. After a couple of their players failed to show up for the event, they were left short-handed and in search of a 5th player. After finding a 5th player, they had a player suspended early in the day for a fast gun. This suspension left them short-handed for the remainder of the day. Playing with only 4 players in that kind of heat was a bit risky, but they made it work. They entered the playoffs as the #2 seed. From there, they won their RaceTo-2 match against the Blue Ridge Raptors in 3 games. This put them in the finals against Team Demolition where they won their match in 3 games.
FYI: Run Through Krew's improbable win marked the first time since 2003 where a team won a CFOA event while playing with only 4 players. The last team to do this was Team Corrupt. Corrupt won the final event of the 2003 season in Sevierville, TN. This win also vaulted them to the 2003 Rookie Division Championship.
Division 5, not sure what was in the water, but the D5 teams were taking it to the D4 teams on Sunday. D5 teams did surprisingly well when playing out of the division. Leading the surge was Postal, Atlanta Breakout, Purple People Eaters, & No More Pain. Postal reclaimed its grip on the D5 standings by winning the event. Purple People Eaters posted their best results of the season with their 2nd place finish. Atlanta Breakout was once again in contention and placed 3rd. No More Pain finished 4th.
FYI: Postal won all 8 prelim games and won both of their RaceTo-2 matches in the playoffs in 2 games. Their average game lasted only 76 seconds. That was one of the most dominant performances in league history.
Congratulations go out to Darryl McCurry and the Atlanta Breakout organization. While part of the group was placing 3rd in D5 at the Carolina Classic, the other part was at the PSP's Chicago Open, where they finished 2nd in Division 4. Well done guys!!

Congratulations also go out to the Lost Boys, who played extremely well in Chicago in D2 RaceTo-5, before losing to the eventual division winners - Upton 187 Crew.
Thanks to everyone who came out! Hope everyone had a good time despite the heat. Special thanks to the CFOA refs and event staff; Steve, Mark, Matt, Wayne, Chris C, Doc, Hunter, Tommy, Jesse, & Smitty! I can't tell you how good it was to see all of those red shirts once again on the field! Special thanks also go out to Brian Hudson for being the hostest with the mostest!!
